KTM has entered a brand new era of the company history with the premiere of its 1190 RC8 Superbike, the first ever “Made in Austria” and a true expression of the company that is always “Ready to race”.

Unveiling the outstanding model at EICMA in Milan, one of the world’s most important international motorcycle fairs, KTM CEO said: “The RC8 is the perfect embodiment of the collective know-how and the sporting passion of our development teams. In addition, they have proven that KTM is capable of pushing through its own model strategy and in doing so, being absolutely true to our clear brand philosophy, also on the road.”
The new machine is the biggest and most comprehensive development project ever undertaken by KTM. As the leading manufacturer of offroad sports motorcycles and with an outstanding factory team making impressions on the world championship road racing circuit, the eagerly awaited 1190 RC8 underlines KTM’s bid to significantly expand its range of models.
At the very heart of the 1190 RC8 is the newly developed super sporty two-cylinder based on the LC8 range of engines, which, with a top performance of 155 hp and a maximum torque of 120 Nm delivers a huge range of power to the rider. The unique light tubular steel frame, highest quality suspension and brake components and unusual technical solutions such as the exhaust positioned under the bike complete the 1190 RC8, which weighs just 200kg with a full tank.
The concept of chief designer Gerald Kiska integrates high quality technology in a purist and very visible way so that the pure racing genes of the 1190 RC8 are clearly visible. The new KTM Superbike, available in orange/black or white/black will be available from March 2008.
